I will personally drive to the OS, abduct Martinez and bury him somewhere he cannot be found if we get him.

Car crash of a manager.

Hahaha you really are a sad cunt Manuel. Keep chasing people to get a reaction. Going to wish cancer on peoples family again or send me a private apology AGAIN? Ain’t it you that had to run off to Thailand cause people wanted to kick you head in for grassing?

Re: Roberto Martinez
Whilst I wouldn't think this a likely appointment, I'd not rule it out either.

With the current ownership, under which G&S still have majority control, we have never appointed a manager currently employed at another club. They don't like paying compensation to other clubs for managers. They prefer to shop for those currently between jobs.

There are a couple of big names in that situation currently that you'd expect them to go for first if Moyes gets the boot. But if they were to say no I'd make Martinez a genuine possibility.

Despite his current stock, the owners would probably point to the fact that he's won an FA Cup previously and came very close to delivering Champions League football at Everton in his first season. Experience of managing in the Premier League would be taken into account along with the fact that he's managed one of the perceived better countries internationally. So whilst not up there with the biggest names available, it would not necessarily be viewed as a small time appointment.

Re: Roberto Martinez
Sullivan gets the blame because he’s a proud wheeler dealer which contributes to how our transfer business is done and how our season pans out….only a part of the problem though but just a big part…..

Re: Roberto Martinez
Not sure why G&S would appoint a big name if they’re looking to fuck off in the not too distant. They’ll want to cross the line with this chump still in charge if they can. That’s why he hasn’t been sacked yet, and they are praying he can turn it around, which in G&S speak is keep us up.

Re: Roberto Martinez
There’s never been ambition at our club since I’ve been alive!!!

Ultimately I’d imagine any future managerial change will be done with the actual money bags owner ie Kresinsky and I doubt he’d employ such a useless cunt, worry would be he’d try to shoehorn in a Czech manager who looked good in the shite league over there instead of going all out for someone like Poch.

Re: Roberto Martinez
We did spend £180m its true, but if you ask me whether we spent it wisely or whether we took a path of least resistance and chased names then you'd get a less positive answer - which kind of backs up my point.

That said, I agree, he's an easy target so fair enough let's see if he disappoints rather than criticise him before he does so

Re: Roberto Martinez
Onside - Sure, nothing is off the table, but let's be honest Sullivan is a very easy target and to me it just becomes dull to bash him at every opportunity. Don't forget we spent 180 mil in the summer.

Why the fuck is there a thread on here about this fella anyway just based on some idle gossip somewhere, best case it should go on the Moyes out thread. IMO you can't spend what we have, sell 60000 ST's and then appoint a chump like Martinez as your manager, any kind of ambition and hope to move forward as a club would be off the table in a heartbeat, and that can't happen.

Re: Roberto Martinez
The problem is, Manuel, that I think Sullivan would view Martinez as a big name and I don't think it's juvenile of anyone to suggest that. He has history

He viewed Pellegrini as a big name based upon winning the league despite him having been cast off to the footballing backwaters of China and there are multiple players to whom he has awarded long expensive contracts when most fans knew those deals were based on reputation rather than ability or suitability.

Like I say, I have no idea about the veracity of these rumours and haven't read them, but am I fearful it's the kind of appointment he could make? Well, yes. He may put more credence in the fact that he managed the number 1 team in the world than the rest of us. Never underestimate his ability to disappoint would be my advice

Re: Roberto Martinez
Onside - Nope, I disagree. When Moyes goes I think we will target a big name. We shall see.

Like I said it's having a pop just for the sake of it, which is very juvenile.

Re: Roberto Martinez
Dunno why you've gone off on one Manuel, I think he's EXACTLY the kind of manager Sulluvan would appoint. That's not to say there's anything in these rumours, but he is definitely to managers what Emerson is to left backs
